Default Thanks to a BUNCH of Guilds

So I was late catching what would happen with the Chefs, and really didn't have many items for them for the event.

Lo and behold, in Shing Jea on Sunday, a number of guilds made sure that everyone in their guilds--and everyone else in the districts--got piggies.

These guilds got together and farmed the heck out of Shing Jea to provide piggies--and were super nice in the bargain. One of our guildies knew one of theirs...and before you could say boo, our small guild--and much of our small alliance--was in place to get mini-pigs.

So. I would like to offer, for what it's worth, a great big thank you to ANY guild that did this--made sure districts got pigs, and were generous with their efforts.

Shing Jea, Dist 108, Midnight EST-- HR guild and friends
Shing Jea, Dist 115, 9 p.m. EST-- CoC and friends.

Just....super. Way to make the game great.

Props to any other guilds involved--and I suspect there were many. You guys make the game.

Wow. That was a kind act on their part. That's awesome!

I initially missed out on a pig because my district didn't have all of the ingredients. I actually showed up mostly for a hat, so I wasn't really concerned about it.

Anyway, after the final event, I went to Kamadan and a very kind person was giving away 5 mini pigs. So now I have a beautiful little pig.

There are indeed kind people in GW!

It was COE, actually, Clan of Elders and the rest of our alliance.

We covered the last three events of the day for District 115 (6pm, 9pm, 12am PST). Had a blast doing it too.

A bunch of us were in a district during the 4th to last event and thought someone else had it covered, but turns out there was only enough stuff for 2 meals.

So we started talking about gathering the ingredients in our alliance chat and it just took off like wild fire. Some of the packrats in the guild had about 1/3 or 1/2 the ingredients already, but we spent the next 3 hours getting the rest of the ingredients. Lots of fun. We didn't really intend to do all three, but other guildies/alliance members would ask and then we started collecting again. We got the stuff for the 2nd to last event together during the 90 minutes before that event started. I was surprised we actually made that one. Had to make quite a few trips to the Ring of Fire. And Azure Crests were a real pain too.

Glad you and everyone else who popped in enjoyed themselves. We all had a blast doing it. One of the things I love about my guild and alliance is how helpful and fun to be with everyone is.

Hope it's ok to post everyone's guild name. It was really a group effort:

Clan of Elders [COE]
Aquired Equation for Hate [AEFH]
Ascendign Lords [AL]
Elite Knights of Steel and Fire [EKSF]
Geriatrics Crew [GC]
Lost Keys to Perception [Lost]
Miendrak El Myrth [MEM]
Steelwind Knights [SW]
The Fated Ones [fate]
Twisted By Phenomena [zEx]

[DVDF] and [BoO] were farming Mini Pigs in Shing Jae ID9 that whole day.. We [BoO] ended up with eight pigs each.. although we each purchased one and won one.. So we did the chef thing six times in total!

For my last attempt, a guild called (I think) Oink is my Hero was there with all ingredients.

I couldn't swear to the exact name but I know it had "OINK" and "HERO" in the guild name. Thank you to that guild.

My guild The Order of the Dragon and Phoenix did it with an allied guild Tokyo Knights and at a later event I ended up in a district where the [Kono] alliance provided the ingredients. Thanks to everyone who helped out/

my guild (all 2 of us) made sure that we had the ingredients covered for 2 of the times.....I missed one of the ingredients each time, but the others in the dist made sure that someone else had that one.....and we did make all 5 meals each time (I also did this for the 1st showing, but lots of people had them all at that time since it was the first time out....).
I still have a few extra pigs taking up my storage too.

MEOW, (Military Experts of War) sponsored Dist. 126 (It was in the 120's, anyway). at the 9:00PM event. It was funny when the "other" Meow guild won a battle in HA while it was going on. So, thanks MEOW for the piggie. And Congrats to Meow for winning HA! LOL

GDW (Guild of Dragonwright) also supplied a few districts with ingredients for the event.

Just to help people do this in future here is what DVDF did. At 15:00 on Sunday I get the idea to help people get pigs etc, so massive kudos and thanks to my alliance for leaping to the challenge at such short notice. We had never done anything on this scale before so we kinda had to go belt and braces

We had one person hold all the mats needed for the event, this meant we could know at a glance what was needed and how many to complete a set.

We then had 5-6 teams ready to farm the missing ingredients after each inventory check. Heroes were avoided at all costs.

By doing this method we could gather between 3 and 6 sets of ingredients in the 2.5 hour gap between events and minimise the efforts required to do so.

With 45 mins to go we would freeze the farming and do a double check on ingredients. People would then scout for empty districts looking for other people who were doing the same as us, if they were we moved as best we could.

with 30 mins to go, we gave 2 sets out, one to a primary giver and one to a backup.

The purpose of the backup was in case the primary error'd out or had somehow misplaced an item. By running 2 sets we could ensure that everyone in a dist got a pig. Missing one would have been horrible(and embarrasing). So the backup was essential IMHO. It did mean that for every district we did we had to have an extra set. But after all, the pigs must flow...

At the 20 min to go mark we would do a district and inventory check again and 5 mins later I would post on the forums where we were doing it.

During the event the primary giver would run to each chef, with their secondary calling out on vent who needed what. Guildies were also on hand to make sure people knew what was going on and not to worry.

People donated ingredients to us all the time, so at the end of each event we would return all the backup sets+donations and left overs and do a stock take, ready to give the farming teams their item lists for the next run.

Using the above we did over 28 districts, each one with a backup set over a period of 12 hours. Using an average of about 100 per district I think we did between 2000 and 2800 people

Voice comms was essential and tbh every run I was a nervous wreck in case we had missed something.

I hope this gives people an idea of how we did it, so that the next time an event like this happens, more guilds and more people can join in, with less of the worry about getting it wrong.

I love that loads of people, guilds and alliances joined in. For some the sacrifice in time was huge and threads like this should be used to recognise their achievements. For me one guy who farms all day just to help others should also recieve a huge amount of praise. Clap, Cheer.

Thanks for making this thread. I had wanted to start this exact same thread as well, but forgot about it (and by now I even forgot the exact name of the alliance doing the good deed, grr). Anyways, I was in AD56 when some alliance (TOFL? or something similar) brought in all ingredients. Bows to you guys!

Our alliance got all the ingredients together 6 times. At least 4 times for D118; the first two times, the districts we had picked were too full for our alliance members all to fit into.

We kept thinking we were going to call it quits after each event … but then someone would say over AC, “umm I’ve still got a smoking remain and some griffon wings…” and *sigh* off we’d go again to fill in the gaps!

We also gave all stuff to one person, easier to keep track. We never announced anything ahead of time (on guru for instance) because each time we were down to the wire, we weren’t sure we’d get it all together yet one more time.

It was a fun weekend.
